  • Educational requirements and how to obtain them, what is recognized (international experience), GED and alternative schools
  • The apprenticeship process and timelines; various routes to obtaining an apprenticeship
  • Incentives to employers and apprentices (wage subsidy, incentive scholarship, training tax credit, client support for tools of trade, and trade courses with the Ministry paying 80% of tuition)
  • Contact information re.: who hires, unions, professional associations and volunteering opportunities
  • Pre-apprenticeship training information: unions, community colleges, OYAP, private institutions
